10 Favourite Drugstore Make Up Items

I'm often asked if drugstore make up products are just as good as high end make up products. The answer to that question isn't really a 'yes' or a 'no'. Yes, there are some drugstore products out there that are just as good as (and sometimes even better than) high end make up products! But I had a few missers as well. In this post I'm going to share with you my 10 drugstore items that I have used and loved for a while now. I've listed them randomly, so it's not that 10 is my least favorite and 1 is the best product of the 10 I mention. Here goes.

1. L'oreal Paris Infallible Color in 002 'Hourglass Beige'

This is such a beautiful eyeshadow which looks like a pressed pigment. It's so intensely pigmented and shiny. The glitters in this eyeshadow are very fine, which gives a very shiny finish but not in a disco ball kind of way.. I love to use it all over the lid with a matte shadow in the crease. I also love to use it to highlight the inner tearduct are and on the brow bone.

2. NYX Rouge Cream Blush in CB09 'Orange'

This cream blush looks scary in the pan but ones you use a tiny amount of this product and blend it out with your fingers or a stippling brush it looks soo fresh and lively. As if glowing from within. It gives such a natural look. I was a bit intimidated by cream blushes at first but now I love them. Easy to blend, looks natural and not greasy at all. This color is the perfect peachy color. And I love love peaches on my cheeks. I think peach cheeks look good on every skin tone. The fairest porcelain toned ladies could rock this color, so will the darker babes. But in my opinion the more olivey chicas have peach cheeks written all over them.

3. Catrice Cosmetics Eyebrow Set

This eyebrow set is just perfect. It's very user friendly. It contains two brow colors, a pair of tweezers, a teeny tiny double sided brush. One end has a small spoolie and one end has a tiny brow brush to fill in the brows with the product. It also come with a small mirror so you can even use it on the go. The brow colors are perfect. Not too red not to ashy. I actually use these colors as eye shadows as well. It comes with a lighter shadow and a darker one. I use the lighter one to fill in the front of the brow, and the darker one for th 'tale' of the brow. And all this for a whopping €3.99

4. Physicians Formula Glow and Mood Boosting Blush in 'Rose'.

A while back this blush was raved about so much on YouTube and beauty blogs. Since I found this blush on iherb.com and I even got to use a discount code (zpz964) I couldn't resist! And I'm glad I didn't resist. This blush is not even pretty in the packaging, it's actually very pretty on the skin as well. Can you see the subtle glow it gives? Gorgeous! You have to use it sparingly though or you'll end up looking like a clown, lol! I don't use the brush it comes with (mine is still in it's packaging), since I find it too small for a blush brush. But with my Real Techniques Blush Brush it's beautifully distributed and blended on my cheeks. Love!

5. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This concealer has impressed me so much. I own the Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer and I honestly think it is just as good! But for a fraction of the price. The packaging and applicator are very similar as well. I use it under my eyes and on any redness of blemishes. Works like a charm on everything. If you haven't tried this one; go try this right now! OK, finish reading this post than go try it.

6. Essence XXL Nude Shine in 19 'Nude Candy'

Unless you've lived under a rock (or you're just normal and not so obsessed with make up as I am)  you'll know that Nars' Turkish Delight lip gloss was everyone's favorite for a while. Mainly because Kim K. Was allegedly wearing it on top of MAC Angel lipstick. So everyone went out and got that Nars lip gloss. I really liked the color but didn't love it that much to pay that price for that particular lip gloss. But then... I found the perfect dupe for it! Without that awful smell Nars lip glosses used to have. And again, for a fraction of the price. This lip gloss looks beautiful on its own but is also gorgeous on so many lipstick colors. I love to wear it on top of MAC 'Myth' lipstick. I think it makes a gorgeous nude lip look.

7. Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I've tried and used many face powders from high end to drugstore product but found my go-to powder in this Rimmel one. It does what I want without making me look cakey or chalky and most importantly doesn't break me out! I ordered mine from asos.com since the prices there are a lot cheaper than the prices at the drugstore in The Netherlands. And shipping is free!

8. L'oreal Paris Super Liner in 'Noir/Black'

This eyeliner taught me how to apply a winged liner without me looking like I've been sleeping with my make up on. It's super easy to use, super black and super affordable. What more can you want? Whether you want a thick statement eyeliner or a thin precise line, this eye liner makes it happen.

9.Bourjois Paris Smokey Eyes Trio in 07 'bleu rock'

I own 7 palettes of these and I love every single one of them. I randomly picked one to show you guys  but seriously love all of them. The colors a beautiful, the texture is to die for and the price for 3 shadows in one palette is absolutely doable.  Go check them out, swatch them if you can and see for yourself. It even comes with a description on how to apply the shades! Perfect right?

10. Essence I <3 Extreme Volume Mascara

Last but certainly not least is this mascara by Essence. It cost me  €1,99 which is ridiculously cheap for a mascara! I'm telling you guys this mascara makes my lashes look thick, long, curled and without that obnoxious spider legs effect! GORGEOUS. And for that price.. You HAVE to give this one a try.

If you do try this mascara or any of these products for that matter let me know what you think! I always love to hear from you guys! It really makes me motivated to keep writing and posting!
