Chocolate Cake With Dulce De Leche Filling

This cake may not be the prettiest one in all the land, but in my opinion, this is definitely the tastiest one! This easy recipe wows my guest every time. It's a soft, fluffy and moist cake, filled with an oh so yummy dulce de leche filling, and the soft chocolate glazing on top finishes this cake off perfectly.

This is what you'll need:

For the cake:
-2 cups of all purpose flower
-2 cups of sugar
-1 cup of milk
-3 medium eggs
-1/3 cup of oil
-3 tbs of cocoa powder
-2 tsp of baking powder

For the filling you'll need:
-1 tin of condensed milk (397 grams)

For the glazing you'll need:
-200 grams of confectioners'sugar
-100 grams of butter
-3 tbs of cocoa powder
-some hot water

Start with heating the condensed milk 'au bain marie' for three hours. This will caramelize the condensed milk, which will give you the perfect and easy filling for the cake.
Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Put everything in a large mixing bowl, and mix everything together. Grease a baking tin (I used a round 26cm one) and pour the batter in the tin. Bake the cake for about an hour. You'll know the cake is done when you take a cocktail stick and poke the cake slightly in the middle. If it comes out wet, give it another couple of minutes. If it comes out dry, your cake is done. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for about 30 minutes. Run a knife around the perimeter of the cake. the bottom side of the cake will now be the top side of the cake, as this is the smoothest side. With a spatula or spoon evenly distribute the caramel filling on to one side of the cake. Place the top of the cake and press gently.

To make the glazing, melt the butter and pour it in with the confectioners' sugar an cocoa powder. Slowly pour in some hot water. Keep stirring or mix using a small whisk, until it's nice and smooth, but not too runny. Pour the glazing on to your cake and spread everything evenly using a spatula or backside of a knife. And there you have your delicious chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling and chocolate glazing! Enjoy!
